Abstract:
Objective To provide an effective and reliable in vitro evaluation method for skin corrosion induced by chemicals.
Methods EpiSkin
TM reconstructed human epidermis model was used to classify chemical substances with known classification categories and unknown classification categories, and to evaluate the applicability of EpiSkin
TM in skin corrosion induced by chemicals.
Results In corrosion test, dichloroacetyl chloride was identified as 1A, glyoxylic acid monohydrate was identified as 1B/1C,which were consistent with the known classification. The other two unknown-classification substances were classified as non-corrosive and 1B/1C, respectively.
Conclusion The
in vitro testing method using EpiSkin
TM reconstructed human epidermis model is suitable for classification and evaluation of skin corrosion induced by chemicals.
