Abstract:
Objective To provide orientation for mental health intervention of public health professionals at grassroots level, the psychosomatic health condition and the occupational burnout among this population was studied.
Methods A total of 560 public health professionals at grassroots level in Bao'an District of Shenzhen City were surveyed with the self-designed, the CPSHS scale and the MBI-GS scale questionnaires.
Results The scores of anxiety, depression, psychosis, respiratory system and cardiovascular system of these professional persons were higher than the national norm, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05);The scores of anxiety, depression, ears and eyes, reproductive and endocrine system, and cardiovascular system in the CPSHS scale questionnaire were positively correlated with the scores of emotional exhaustion in the MBI-GS scale questionnaire, while the scores of anxiety, depression, mental illness and digestive system were positively correlated with cynicism, and the scores of depression and nervous system were positively correlated with decreased professional efficiency. The coefficients of determination were 0.985 6, 0.964 8 and 0.958 9, respectively.
Conclusion There was a strong correlation between psychosomatic health and occupational burnout among the public health professionals at grassroots level. It is very important to reduce these persons'occupational burnout and improve their physical and mental health.
