Abstract:
Objective To understand the reference values of selected parameters in blood routine test among healthy workers in Tianjin.
Methods Venous blood samples of 9 261 healthy workers, who had physical examination during January 2014 to December 2014, were tested by an automated blood analyzer (SYSMEX K-4500). The reference range of blood parameters, including white blood cell (WBC, ×109/L), neutrophil (NEUT, ×109/L), neutrophil percentage (NEUT, %), intermediate cells (MXD, ×109/L), middle cell percentage (MXD, %), lymphocyte (LYM, ×109/L), lymphocyte percentage (LYM, %), hemoglobin (Hb, g/L), red blood cell (RBC, ×1012/L) and platelet (PLT, ×109/L), were calculated with SPSS 20.0 software.
Results The age of these workers was 31.11 ±8.40. The workers exposed to more than 50 kinds of occupational hazard factors, such as noise, dust, carbon monoxide, acid or anhydride, high temperature, and so on. There were significant differences of WBC, NEUT, NEUT percentage, MXD, MXD percentage, LYM, RBC, Hb and PLT between male and female workers(P < 0.05).There were significant differences of WBC, NEUT, MXD percentage, LYM, RBC, and Hb among different age groups(P < 0.05).
Conclusion There are gender- and age-differences of some parameters in blood routine test among workers in Tianjin. A deeper and detailed analysis of blood cell parameters should be carried out.
