Abstract:
Objective To study the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMSD) among sonographers in Shenzhen hospitals.
Methods Totally 171 sonographers in 13 hospitals were surveyed with WRMSD questionnaire.
Results The overall prevalence of WRMSD was 96.49%,and the primarily locations were neck (88. 89%),right shoulder (80.12%), lumbar (78.95%),right wrist (65.50%)and back (64.33%). There was no difference between the overall prevalence of the female and that of the male(P>0.05),while there was no correlation between the prevalence of WRMSD and the age or work time(P>0.05).
Conclusion The high prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders of sonographers should not be overlooked. It is necessary to take intervention measures to prevent and control WRMSD.
