Abstract:
Objective To evaluate the applicability of the Chinese version job content questionnaire (JCQ22) in occupationally noise-exposed workers.
Methods The occupational stress of 500 noise-exposed workers in an automobile manufacturing company were surveyed with questionnaire of JCQ22. Repeated investigations were conducted after 2 weeks among 40 workers who were selected randomly. The reliability of the questionnaire was analyzed using internal consistency reliability and test-retest reliability. Content validity was evaluated based on correlation analysis, while structural validity was analyzed using exploratory factors.
Results The Cronbach's α coefficient of this study was 0.933 to verify the good internal consistency of the questionnaire. The results of repeated survey showed there was no statistically significant difference between the two measured scores (P>0.05). The correlation coefficient of these two surveys was greater than 0.9 to show good re-test consistency. The correlation coefficient between the scores of each dimension and the total score of the scale was greater than 0.8(P < 0.01)to indicate highly effective content. The KMO value of 0.933 and Bartlett's spherical test value of 7 835.941(P < 0.01)indicated that there was a certain correlation among variables and these variables were suitable for factor analysis. The four extracted common factors contributed 66.583% of cumulative variance. The maximum orthogonal rotation of the variance showed that the item load of the four extracted common factors was basically the same as the structural framework of the work content scale.
Conclusion The Chinese version job content questionnaire (JCQ22) has good reliability and validity. It can better reflect the occupational stress of noise-exposed workers and be applicable to survey the mental health condition of these workers.
