Abstract:
Objective To study the clearance of gastrointestinal adsorbents against paraquat and diquat by in vitro tube test.
Methods The effects of poison mass concentration, adsorbent type, reaction time and pH value on the rapid scavenging ability of paraquat and diquat were studied by orthogonal design and in vitro tube test.
Results The results showed that adsorbents, reaction time and pH value significantly influenced the absorption rate of paraquat and diquat(P < 0.05). The order of factors affecting absorption rate of paraquat was adsorbents > reaction time > pH value; the order of factors affecting the absorption rate of diquat was adsorbents > pH value > reaction time. Orthogonal experiments indicated that the optimal prescription were pH=12, montmorillonite as absorbent and reaction time=120 min.
Conclusions In vitro tube test show that gastrointestinal adsorbents(Montmorillonite powder, activated carbon powder and crushed medicinal carbon tablets) could clear paraquat and diquat. Adsorbents, reaction time and pH value could influence the absorption rate of paraquat and diquat.
