Abstract:
Objective To understand the status of work -related quality of life and its influencing factors of nursing managers, as well as explore the impact path of self -efficacy and coping style on their work -related quality of life.
Methods Using convenient sampling, the general information questionnaire, the general self-efficacy scale (GSES), the simplified coping style questionnaire(SCSQ), and work-related quality of life scale(WRQL) were adopted to conduct a cross-sectional survey of nursing managers from 102 hospitals in 20 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) of China. Pearson correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used to test the relationship between variables, and Bootstrap method was used to test the mediating effect of positive coping between self -efficacy and workrelated quality of life.
Results Totally 1 914 questionnaires were collected and 1 873 were valid with effective recovery rate of 97.86%. The score of work -related quality of life of nursing managers was (3.76 ± 0.57). The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the score of work-related quality of life scale of nursing managers who had two children increased by 0.055 points (P < 0.01) compared with those who did not have children. Self efficacy was a positive predictor of work -related quality of life; for each 1 point increase in self -efficacy, the work -related quality of life increased by 0.397 points (P < 0.01). Positive coping was a positive predictor of work -related quality of life; for each 1 point increase in positive coping, the work -related quality of life increased by 0.517 points (P < 0.01). The effect of self-efficacy on positive coping was 0.289 (P < 0.001), the effect of positive coping on work-related quality of life was 0.519(P < 0.001), and the direct effect of self-efficacy on work-related quality of life was 0.397(P < 0.001); Positive coping played a partial mediating role between self -efficacy and work -related quality of life, and the mediating effect accounted for 27.47%.
Conclusions The work -related quality of life of nursing managers was at a medium -high level. Health administrative department and hospital administrators should pay attention to the effect of nursing managers' self-efficacy, promote their positive coping style to enhance work-related quality of life.
