Abstract: Objective To observe the characterization of newly diagnosed occupational disease cases in Qingdao and to provide the orientation for occupational diseases prevention and control in Qingdao. Methods The characterization of occupational disease cases reported from 2008 to 2012 was analyzed.The information of cases was extracted from the diagnostic data bank. Results A total of 405 cases were diagnosed during this period.Among these cases,there were 281 cases of pneumoconiosis,53 cases of occupational poisoning,52 cases of noise-induced deafness,9 cases of occupational contact dermatitis,and 8 cases of occupational asthma. Conclusion To prevent pneumoconiosis,occupational poisoning and noise induced deafness was the priority work to prevent and control occupational diseases in Qingdao,.
