Abstract:
Objective To understand the occupational health knowledge condition and training effect among certified safety engineers,to provide orientation to improve the training quality.
Methods Using a self-administered questionnaire, the information on knowledge about occupational health and training effect among certified safety engineers was collected and evaluated.
Results As many as 54.0%-98.8% of certified safety engineers were familiar of the duty of employers and 73.3% -98.2% were familiar of occupational diseases diagnosis, but the awareness of occupational health surveillance and the prevention and control of occupational hazards was lower. After being trained, their awareness was improved (
P < 0.05 or
P < 0.01).
Conclusion These findings suggested that certified safety engineers didn't have strong knowledge relating to occupational health, especially the occupational health surveillance, characteristics of occupational hazards, and prevention and control of these hazards. In the future, this is still key work for training of certified safety engineers.
