Abstract:
Objective To observe the characterization of occupational disease cases in Guangming District, Shenzhen and to provide the orientation for occupational diseases prevention and control in this district.
Methods The characterization of occupational disease cases reported from 2006 to 2011 was analyzed. The information of cases were extracted from the reporting system (data bank).
Results A total of 22 cases were diagnosed during this period and no cases died of occupational diseases. Among these cases, there were 8 cases of occupational poisoning (42.9%), 5 cases of pneumoconiosis(23.8%) and 5 cases of noise-induced deafness (23.8%).
Conclusion To prevent the occupational poisoning, pneumoconiosis and noise-induced deafness was the key point of occupational diseases prevention and control in this district. Basic occupational health service was useful to control occupational diseases and furthermore protect the workers' health.
