Abstract:
Objective The components of hazard source risks were summarized and revealed by use of "risk volume"and theoretical methods were explored to avoid hazard source risks.
Methods The concept of "risk volume" derived from classical risk theories was employed to conduct a three-dimensional analysis of accident risks from hazard source, it determined the risks and potential hazards from hazard sources and displaying the traceability from hazard sources to potential hazards and to risks.
Results "unitary potential hazard", "binary potential hazard" and "ternary risk" were put forward.
Conclusion Accident risks can be lowered or eliminated by reducing or removing one of the three components of risk volumes.
