Correlation between pulmonary function status and blood oxygen pressure of 160 pneumoconiosis patients

  • Objective To understand the pulmonary function status and blood oxygen pressure of the pneumoconiosis patients in Sanming City,so that the appropriate support from the work-related injury insurance could be provided. Methods The pulmonary function and blood gas analysis of 160 pneumoconiosis patients were tested and the functional status of these patients was assayed. Results The indicators of blood gas analysis, such as PO2, were related to the indicators of pulmonary function test, such as FVC and FEV1.0(rs=0.768,0.823,P<0.05). PO2,FVC and FEV1.0 of patients decreased gradually with the increase of pneumoconiosis stage (rs=-0.572,-0.644,-0.717,P<0.05)or disability grade(rs=0.560,0.443,0.458,P<0.05). Conclusion It indicated that blood gas analysis could be used for identification of disability grade induced by pneumoconiosis, since this test could not be affected by patients' intentional act.
