Cardiac protection mechanism of mild hypothermia treatment after resuscitation

  • Mild hypothermia treatment has clear protective effects in the patients with recovery of spontaneous circulation after cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The treatment of mild hypothermia can help reduce the myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury, the myocardial infarction area, the ventricular remodeling and the myocardial cell metabolism. This article summarized the updated research on cardiac protection mechanism of mild hypothermia treatment after resuscitation. The protection mechanism has not been well clarified yet and more research is needed.
