Reality of execution of employment contract and accident insurance of workers exposed to occupational hazards in Langfang City

Objective The reality of employment contract and accident insurance of workers exposed to occupational hazards and their employers among 10 countries or distracts in Langfang City in 2011 was surveyed to provide a basis for setting occupational health measures. Methods The questionnaires used by national survey was used and quality was ensured in accordance with the work scheme for national survey on occupational health work and Hebei Provincial WQOM for survey on occupational health work. Results A total of 5 223 enterprises in which occupational hazards existed were investigated in Langfang City. The ratio of signing the employment contract and the accident insurance was 73.9% and 72.3%,respectively. There were great variations among different districts or countries,the different enterprises with various scales or economical types or industries(P<0.05). In Dacheng,Gu'an and Guangyang counties relative high signature rates were noted,while the higher rates for the enterprises with large and medium-size or foreign investment were noted. The enterprises in industries of oil and gas,communications equipment,computers and electronic equipment manufacturing had higher rates,compared with the enterprises related to furniture manufacturing,wood processing and wood,bamboo rattan,palm,grass products. Conclusion The reality of execution of employment contract and accident insurance of workers exposed to occupational hazards in Langfang was not good enough,we should work hard to improve such situation.
